The first thing I would like you to do is to email me at btoren@yahoo.com. so that I know you have started the course, and when you started; and to have your email address as quickly as possible.

This class is structured the same way as my classroom activity. The only difference being it is three weeks longer to enable us to spend a little more time with Access and PowerPoint than I have in the classroom. So this course is ten weeks rather than seven weeks. There will be two weeks spent on each of the four Office packages: Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

I have set it up so that there is one set of exercises to be turned in each week and a final in the tenth week. Each exercise has its due date printed at the top of the page. The final will be sent to you by e-mail once you have completed all of the weekly assignments

I have created lectures to go with certain parts of the course and refer you to the textbook for the rest of your learning experience in this course. The text book has several very good exercises that walk you through various features of the Office products

The procedure is to download the exercises and respond to each of them. Each exercise is to be a new document, for instance, don't answer all of the word exercises in the same word document. The response to the exercise is then e-mailed to me at btoren@yahoo.com as an attachment. I prefer all of the exercises to be transferred in the same email. It just makes it easier to keep track of everyone's inputs. Make sure you identify each exercise as directed. Be sure to save copies of all your exercises and to keep copies of the e-mail that you sent me. This makes it easier to redo things if they get lost on the Internet or by me. And things do get lost occasionally. If they do get lost you can just re-email them.

I will correct your exercises and tell you when they are in error or missing and provide information to help you redo them. You will learn more if I let you redo them than just telling you they are wrong. So you will learn and regain any lost points.

Make sure you read the syllabus for information on the course such as the dates assignments are required to be turned in, contact information and required textbook.

Please feel free to e-mail me or phone me at, 952.440.4812, if you have questions on anything. Also, please let me know if something comes up that results in sending a late submission. I will also be grateful if you would point out any errors or confusion in with weekly exercises.

The next web page in this series contains links to the syllabus, all of the exercises and the lectures. Just click here

Make sure you download and read the syllabus. It contains my phone number, hours you can call me (I do not have an office on campus), and class assignment due dates; along with other information concerning the class
