NetDirect Activation

Computer lab assistance DATE: January 4, 2006
SUBJECT: Semester start Computer lab assistance requests
TO: Faculty, lab reservations
FROM: Kimberly Smith, Information Technology

This important message is being sent to a subset of faculty who are teaching a Metropolitan State course in a computer classroom.

Due to MnSCU security standards, anonymous network access has been restricted. As a result each student needs to have activated their individual NetDirect account in order to access computer or portal resources. To see a demo on NetDirect account activation please visit: http://content.metrostate.edu/media/nd-activation.html

Students may activate their NetDirect account off campus from any computer with Internet access by visiting: http://www.metrostate.edu/it/activate.html  or on campus at any one of our open computer labs and asking a lab assistant for help.

If you would like an IT staff person to visit your classroom on your first day of class to assist students in activating their NetDirect accounts please send a request to Kimberly.Smith@metrostate.edu by Friday, January 6th.

Please take a moment to review the information listed in the IT FAQ's listed below; we hope familiarity with this information will be helpful in understanding some of the IT resources that are available as well as helpful in directing, informing and serving our students.

Thank you and we hope you have a rewarding Spring semester!
